HISTORY

In 1940 Lančiūnava Lower Agricultural School was established in Lančiūnava village, Kognovickis manor, which later became Lančiūnava Soviet Farm-Technical School and Lančiūnava Agricultural School in 1990.
In 1947 agricultural mechanization  school was transferred from Panevežys district Raguvėlė town to the village of Šlapaberžė, which later became the 11th Šlapaberžė Rural Secondary School and Šlapaberžė Agricultural School in 1990.
In 1960 Šėta 6th Vocational Technical School, later renamed Rural Vocational Technical School No. 13 and then Kapliai Agricultural School in 1989, was established in the former base of the machinery technical station in Kapliai village.
In 1963 Kėdainiai Vocational Technical school No.27 was established in Kėdainiai chemical plant. The school celebrated the foundation  in Šėtos str. No. 105 in 1966. The school was renamed Kėdainiai Polytechnic School in 1990.
On July 1, 2001 Kėdainiai Polytechnic School, Lančiūnava, Šlapaberžė and Kapliai Agricultural Schools were reorganized into Kėdainiai Vocational Training Centre. At that time, the Centre consisted of Kapliai, Polytechnic, Lančiūnava and Šlapaberžė Departments.
Since September 1, 2005  there was no admission of new students at Šlapaberžė Department.
On 2012 September 1, 2012 Kapliai Department was reorganized, the names of the centre's departments were changed: Polytechnic Department to the Industry and Services Department, Lančiūnava Department to the Transport and Business Deprtment.
Since  September 1, 2014 I and II gymnasium classes were started in the Centre.
On January 1, 2019 the Centre was transformed into a public institution.
On September 1, 2019  Transport and Business Department was liquidated.
Currently, the center consists of 3 departments: Vocational Training, Gymnasium and Adult and Continuing Education Departments.

COOPERATION
The Centre cooperates with regional and national general education and higher education institutions, social partners (employers) and vocational schools. The joint projects are carried out with partners from Turkey, Italy, Spain, Estonia, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, Norway, Greece, Poland, Romania, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Sweden, Latvia, Malta, Cyprus, Hungary. Moreover, bilateral cooperation agreements have been signed with vocational schools in Estonia, Poland, Ukraine and Georgia.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES
The Center has 18 years of experience in the preparation and implementation of international projects. From 2003 to 2019 there were implemented 48 international projects. Currently 4 ongoing Erasmus + program projects are being continued.
Since the beginning of the establishment of the Center, the community has been working in partnership, communicating and cooperating with social partners in the region, Lithuania and abroad.
The center employs a qualified project implementation team with many years of experience in project preparation and administration, able to implement the funded projects in a quality manner and effectively use the experience gained during the projects to achieve the strategic goals of the organization. The teachers of the center are creative, open to innovations, actively participate in project development and implementation activities.
The Centre's international activities are beneficial to the institution and corresponds to its content, planned and implemented in accordance with the Centre's Internationalization Strategy. In 2015 the Center has prepared the first Internationalization Strategy Document and the Action Plan for its Implementation for 2015-2020 period. In response to the changes in the organization (reorganization, decrease in the number of students, etc.) and the conclusions of the experts of the Internationalization Strategy,
in 2018 December the Internationalization Strategy and the Action Plan for its Implementation were improved and simultaneously updated for  further 2018-2022 period.
The Center, in cooperation with foreign educational institutions and educational organizations, actively participates in international projects, so that by disseminating and sharing good practice, staff and students adopt the latest teaching methods and tools, respond to EU requirements and challenges in the vocational field and adapt the teaching process accordingly. By participating in international projects, the Centre's teachers acquire or improve foreign language, intercultural communication skills and other professional, social and personal competencies. Mobility visits abroad increase personal language skills and perceptions of cultural and social differences. Increasing the mobility of teachers and other staff promotes the internationalization of formal and non-formal education activities, the development of international elements of curricula and their inclusion in the teaching process.
The Center, in cooperation with national and international partners, seeks to ensure a process of formal and non-formal education that meets European standards. According to the Center’s 2019-2023 Strategic Action Plan, in order to improve the performance of international cooperation, the main goals for the implementation of the Internationalization Strategy are set:
1. Strengthen and expand partnerships inside and outside the European Union to ensure long-term cooperation with foreign partners.
2. Increase the international mobility of students and teachers in order to provide professional experience and improve intercultural awareness.
3. To promote the formation of international competencies of the school community by attracting teachers who have not yet participated in international projects
4. To develop the internationality of the school by strengthening the already existing direction of meeting and educating the needs of students.
5. To improve the quality of implementation of international projects and the efficiency of dissemination.
In 2015 the Center has been awarded the Erasmus + Vocational Training Mobility Charter.
